We are recruiting a confident, commercially astute General Manager for a highly regarded, food-led pub in Buckinghamshire, recognised among the Top 50 Gastropubs and operating at Bib Gourmand standard.

This is a standout opportunity to lead a well-established venue with a strong local reputation, a loyal following, and a clear commitment to exceptional food, warm hospitality, and consistent quality execution.

We are seeking a hands-on leader who understands what it takes to deliver a high-quality, Michelin-recognised style of offering within a relaxed pub environment, and who can drive both guest experience and commercial performance.

The Role

  • Full responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy, food-led gastropub
  • Lead, train and inspire a high-performing front-of-house team
  • Work closely with the kitchen to ensure seamless service and standards aligned to Bib Gourmand-level expectations
  • Drive sales, profitability and local community engagement
  • Maintain exceptional service standards and operational discipline
  • Manage rotas, stock, labour and compliance
  • Collaborate with ownership to support ongoing growth and development

The Ideal Candidate

  • Current General Manager or experienced Deputy ready to step up
  • Background in quality-led, fresh food pubs or restaurants operating at 2AA Rosette / Bib Gourmand level
  • Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering results
  • A natural leader with excellent communication skills
  • Passionate about food, service, and creating a memorable guest experience
  • Comfortable operating in a detail-driven, standards-focused environment
