MEET THE TEAM

KERRY CRICK

Managing Consultant

Zimbabwean born & bred, I moved to the UK with a backpack and £150 in my pocket at the age of 18!  Hospitality was my calling and after an intense career in the trade, I now get to engage with and introduce awesome, passionate people to insanely great businesses, surrounded by a team who genuinely care about the success of everyone we interact with.

Hospitality is a feeling and my first UK job was with JD Wetherspoon as a Bar Associate in Wimbledon and after a few months moved up.  I moved to Heathrow after a year with my GM at the time who guided me through the management development programme.  2 ½ years of crazy airport hours, I moved back to the high street.  After 4 years, I moved over to the wonderful world of Nando’s for a couple of great years before being tempted away (shhh – don’t tell anyone).  A couple of years of sales and missing the industry I loved, recruitment in hospitality seemed natural!  3 great years with Berkeley Scott and then I met Nick in 2012… and well, the rest is history!  🙂

FIRST EVER JOB

I ran the reception of a dog parlour during school holidays from the age of 14!  My first hospitality job was waitressing in Zim at a local restaurant called Café Med.

Im 22 years old, 15 of which I lived in Spain.
I always try to find the good in everything and like to make people laugh.
I grew up in the hospitality trade as my father was a chef and had his own bar as i was growing up , i would help him collecting glasses of a weekend for extra pocket money. When I was 18 I got a job at a new restaurant as a food runner , after 2 months they decided to train me as a waitress and I later went on to win employee of the month 3 times in the first year of being there. I worked my way up to being bar manager and ran the bar for 2 years. At the end of 2016 myself and my family decided to move back to England. I then went on to become a manager in a lovely gastro pub in Farnham.

MITCH SIMPSON

Resourcer

My name is Mitch, and I am a DJ and Musician with a history of managing music venues, late night operations and restaurants within London and the North-East of England. Easy-going, northern lad!

I started my hostpitality career (excluding an unsuccessful McDonald’s role at 16), as a food and beverage assistant at a 5* pride of Britain hotel in the North East. I quickly developed a passion for the industry and found myself within a few months being Head Waiter in the Michelin star restaurant on site, as well as getting my first taste of management.

From here I moved to a new venue called Bonbar in Newcastle upon-Tyne, where we developed service standards and created a completely new concept for Newcastle; a premium late-night venue.

From Bonbar I moved to London, where I found myself in a role in Browns Restaurants. Here I learned about the intensity of the London hospitality scene, and I learned fast!

After my time with Browns, I started a position in The Columbo Group where I was opening manager for the newly purchased Jazz Cafe in Camden. This multi-function venue further developed my love for London Hospitality and late-night venues. I spent time working in different Columbo venues, most recently at The Old Queens Head, Islington.

I now work for Appetite 4 Recruitment, where I can use my knowledge and experience within the Industry to help candidates find jobs they enjoy as much as I did mine!

ANNE-SOPHIE LOUSSERT

Senior Recruitment Consultant - Fine Dining

Hospitality is in my blood as my grandfather owned a Hotel, Bar and restaurant in the Middle of France. It was naturally that I studied International Hospitality Management at Vatel School. During these studies, I have week practice in all the departments of a 4-star hotel, traiteur and gastronomic restaurant plus several internships in 5 Star hotels in France and the well-known restaurant Le Gavroche, in London.

When I finished, I have move to London to develop my careers in this field. Due to my studies and to my past experiences in recruitment company, I have developed a good understanding of the recruitment needs of prestigious companies that is why it was obvious for me to join the fine dining department at Appetite.

I chose to work with Appetite as they offer my love for the industry and we all like minded people. We have all been in the industry and genuinely care and want the best for both our candidates and clients. Appetite give me the freedom to do what I love which is recruiting the best candidate for the best restaurant.

LUCIE DISSAUX

Fine Dining Resourcer

Thanks to the job of my father, I was able to live in the whole world where I had the taste of travelling: I lived in Japan, Canada, Australia, … When I finished high school, the only thing I knew was that I wanted a job in contact with people, therefore I chose hospitality studies.

I did my first internships in five-star hotels in Paris, I like it a lot so there I was working in gastronomic restaurant. This job allowed me to work in very beautiful establishments such as the Ritz Paris and the Hotel Belles Rives in Juan-les-Pins.

Joining the Fine Dining team of Appetite is a continuity in my career as I know the fine dining environment. I know quite a bit from the places I work, I want to find the best places that will suit the candidates, so the best restaurants have the best of candidates.
